Stop borrowing my pencils!

I really do try to be nice, most of the time. It's just second nature for me. It takes a LOT to get me riled up.

Our project right now in Drawing is with colored prisma pencils. In case you don't know, these are not your typical crayola pencils. These are $1.39 each pencils. They start out around 7 inches long. It takes a good bit of pigment mixing to get the color that you want. Personally, I'd rather mix paint but I'm here to learn so learning is what I'm going to do. I do love how beautifully the colors mix though, and no drying time. *drool*

There are a few people in class who borrow my things when they have left stuff at home by mistake. Usually it's things like artist tape, erasers, q-tips, scissors, etc. We all pretty much just share each other's stuff. No big deal when it's a quick "can I see that for just a second" scenario.

There is one person, however, who is never prepared for class. He is very scattered and constantly comes to class missing whatever item I am going to use most that day. I know he doesn't do it on purpose, but it is driving me up a frickin wall.

Last Monday, it was my white and black pencils. The Monday before that was my yellow ochre. (Which I think he dropped several times because the darn thing keeps breaking every single time I have to sharpen it. I have wasted so much of that pencil that it's not even funny anymore.)

This past Wednesday he needed my white one for "just a minute." I even said that I was going to be needing it pretty quickly and he promised to bring it right back. Thirty minutes later I had to borrow someone else's white pencil because he still hadn't brought mine back yet. I got it back about an hour later and 2 inches shorter. Grrrrr.

So I went today and bought 2 more whites, 2 more yellow ochres, 1 more black, and a couple of other "duplicates" so that when he asks again I will be prepared. He's not getting my good ones. He can use the ones that are already half-way gone.

I can't wait to see what he asks to borrow on Monday. *insert fake smile through gritted teeth here*
